Overview: The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) is designed to provide peer-to-peer support to people with an
identified mental health diagnosis. The CPS provides services and supports in a variety of
related areas including the Decision Support Center using the Common Ground program, the
Community/Mobile Peer Program and as a WRAP facilitator. All HSI employees agree to provide
services via the Recovery Principles. (See attached document).
B. Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare various topics for WRAP group sessions in advance of facilitating the group.
- Facilitate group sessions weekly and complete documentation within required timeframe.
- Complete State requirement of a minimum of at least 18 hours of training annually. (These trainings can be accomplished through the agency sponsored College of Recovery, internal and external training)
- Billing is calculated in units. A unit is equals 15 minutes. A unit less than 15 minutes is not billable.
- Notes must be completed within 48 hours of the visit. That visit is then either approved by the supervisor and sent to billing or returned to the CSP for further information or clarification. (If the note is returned, it will appear on the employees To Do List. Again, 24 hours is the turnaround time for completion.)
- Goal plans are reviewed every 6 months and are updated yearly or upon goal completion or at the request of the person utilizing services.
- Strengths based Assessments are completed at a minimum annually or whenever a new goal plan is being created.

In partnering with clients, all staff will support and facilitate the use of Recovery tools that have proven effective in achieving the goal of recovery.
